A vibrant celebration of traditional music, language and dance, Ceol na nGael brings together an exceptional lineup of artists rooted in tradition and shaped by place. This special concert explores the deep connection between music and the Irish language, where melody, rhythm and storytelling intertwine.  

Mary Bergin – One of the most influential tin whistle players in Irish traditional music, Mary Bergin set a new standard for the instrument through her recordings Feadóga Stáin. An All-Ireland champion, her playing is renowned for its clarity, lift and precision. Her work has shaped generations of whistle players worldwide. 

Piaras Ó Lorcáin – An Irish language advocate, broadcaster and cultural organiser, Piaras Ó Lorcáin is widely known for his work promoting Gaeilge through media and public engagement. Based in Dublin, he has been central to a number of initiatives celebrating Irish language and culture. His work connects music, language and community in a contemporary urban context. 

Macdara Ó Faoláin – A bouzouki player from An Rinn, Co. Waterford, Macdara is known for his innovative approach to accompaniment within Irish traditional music. He performs regularly with a wide range of collaborators across the trad scene. His playing brings a fresh harmonic perspective rooted in the tradition. 

Becky Ní Éallaithe – A sean-nós dancer from Conamara, Becky Ní Éallaithe is known for her distinctive, rhythm-driven style. Her dancing is deeply connected to the musical traditions of her native place. She is part of a new generation carrying forward the sean-nós dance tradition. 

Kaitlin Cullen Verhauz – A New York-born, Dublin-based cellist and vocalist, Kaitlin Cullen Verhauz works across traditional, folk and classical music. She has performed at major venues including Carnegie Hall and collaborated widely across the Irish music scene. A versatile performer, she is also a member of the alt-folk group Saltaire. 

Mairéad Hurley – From Ballymote, Co. Sligo, Mairéad Hurley is an All-Ireland Senior Concertina Champion (2006). She has performed and taught internationally and released the trio album The Truckley Howl with John Blake and Nathan Gourley. Raised in a musical family, her playing is deeply rooted in the Sligo tradition. 

Ceol na nGael celebrates the powerful connection between traditional music, song, dance and the Irish language in a special concert bringing together some of the finest artists working in the tradition today. Set in the heart of Belfast’s Irish-language community at Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich, the concert blends masterful musicianship, sean-nós dance, and storytelling from artists deeply rooted in place, heritage and creativity. Featuring legendary whistle player Mary Bergin alongside emerging voices in the tradition, Ceol na nGael promises an inspiring celebration of living tradition.
