ALL-ISLAND Residential Bursary

Young musicians aged 18–23 residing on the island of Ireland are invited to apply for a fully funded residential bursary, offering an unforgettable week of music, learning, and cultural exchange at Belfast TradFest Summer School taking place 28 July - 1 August 2025.

Important details:

  • Belfast TradFest Summer School takes place Mon 28th July - Fri 1st August.

  • Each residential bursary covers masterclass fees and meals for 5 days, plus 7 nights city centre student accommodation.

  • Travel to and from Belfast is not included.

  • The bursary cannot be applied to existing bookings.

  • Submissions close Monday 2nd June 6pm.

The criteria are:

  • Financial Need
    Applicants who experience financial challenges in attending the Belfast TradFest Summer School will be given priority. We take various factors into account when assessing need, including personal and household circumstances.

  • Underrepresented or Disadvantaged Groups
    Priority will be given to individuals from groups that have historically had limited access to music education or cultural opportunities, including but not limited to those from minority ethnic groups, or those with disabilities.

  • Commitment to Traditional Music Education
    Applicants who demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and contributing to traditional music, whether through past involvement in music summer schools, performance, or a desire to further their studies, will be given preference.
