The Set Dancing classes are pitched at beginner level while also facilitating those who have danced for a few years and want to learn more dances and even some basic footwork. We will teach Set Dances from all over Ireland dancing to reels, jigs, polkas, slides & hornpipes. We will use some more experienced dancers to demonstrate each figure and then we will breakdown the more intricate parts of each set dance so that everyone irrespective of their experience will have great fun. No experience is necessary, no partner is needed. All we suggest you bring are some flat leather soled shoes, a bottle of water and an open mind. It'll be great craic!

The Summer School’s team of tutors is made up of internationally renowned performers with proven track records as teachers and educationalists. The primary means of teaching and learning will be ‘by ear’ with an emphasis in the less experienced classes of assisting pupils to develop oral/aural skills in addition to instrumental competency and developing core repertoire. All classes are designed for intermediate to advanced (minimum 2 years instrument experience) adults and children over 6 years of age except bodhrán, set dancing, sean nós dancing, traditional singing & sean nós singing which are suitable for beginners.
